About Me

Among other things, I am an Associate Professor in Physical Activity & Health at Eastern Oregon University. The other things--what some might call "hobbies"--are rather integrated with my career profession and include competitive cycling, website development, and taking college classes. Basically, the line between work an play is somewhere between blurry and non-existent.

My academic emphases in Physical Activity are Sport Management and Pedagogy, but I have experienced teaching quite a variety of classes since I began university teaching when I was 23. During my career, I have been teaching online in one way or another with my classes. I really enjoy using web platforms to interact with students.

I started school in 2nd grade and couldn't get enough. After 22 almost-consecutive years (I did take 1 year off), I finally got enough. That was in 2004. For some reason in Spring of 2009 I got inspired to go back to graduate school and finish my MBA. That will give me 5 university diplomas. Did I mention I love sports and recreation? Cycling is just the most recent focuses in a line of sports that includes baseball, basketball, golf, and a wide variety of other sports and activities. I've also coaches several sports, mostly at the college level.

And I haven't yet mentioned my family of 4 with 2 small kids, a boy and girl. We've been spending our winter (or, their summer) in Canberra, ACT, Australia.
