About Me

Among other things, I am an Associate Professor in Physical Activity & Health at Eastern Oregon University. The other things--what some might call "hobbies"--are rather integrated with my career profession and include competitive cycling, website development, and taking college classes. Basically, the line between work an play is somewhere between blurry and non-existent.

My academic emphases in Physical Activity are Sport Management and Pedagogy, but I have experienced teaching quite a variety of classes. I began full-time university teaching when I was 23, so I have quite a few years as a professor. During my entire career, I have been teaching online in one way or another with my classes. I really enjoy using web platforms to interact with students.

I started school in 2nd grade and couldn't get enough. After 22 almost-consecutive years (I did take 1 year off), I finally got enough. That was in 2004. By the way, that earned me 4.5 college degrees lest you think I was just messing around. For some reason in Spring of 2009 I got inspired to go back to graduate school and finish my MBA. Did I mention I love sports and recreation? I do. Cycling is just the most recent obsession in a line of sports that includes baseball, basketball, golf, and a wide variety of other sports and activities. I've also coaches several sports, mostly at the college level.

And I haven't yet mentioned my family of 4 with 2 small children, a boy and girl. We're planning to be in Australia this winter (or, their summer).
